This $4M project will create energy-efficient, modern, and affordable homes in the county’s second oldest Black majority community. Each home will have an average net zero carbon footprint using energy efficiencies in the building envelope and mechanical systems. The homes are built to form a microgrid, providing far greater reliability in energy surges and outages. Each home is designed for future installation of solar photovoltaic systems to further increase efficiency.
